John's Pet Photography is the passion for animal-lover Johnathan Garfield. John is a contemporary photo-journalist and pet photographer based in Hamilton, Ontario, specializing in cats and kittens, and dogs and puppies, as well as birds and more exotic and unusual pets and animals. Just as he feels about his own pets, John recognizes that your pets become part of the family. Whether your pet is a canine, feline, bird, reptile, lizard, spider, fish, pony or skunk, John will capture the pet you love in either it's on site natural setting or in a studio photo shoot.
With graduate and post-graduate degrees in the visual arts, John began his professional passion in photography by spending much of his time in a studio. In recent years however, he has been delighted at the freedom and candid opportunities that exist for taking pictures outside of a controlled indoor facility. While a studio still has many photographic advantages for certain animals and temperments, in 2007, John began spending much of his time on-location capturing pet portraits in homes, back yards, fields and rivers. When on location, John carries as little gear as possible and utilizes natural light to exquisitely portray your pet's true personality and character.
As a professional pet photographer John can display your pet companions in a detail and quality that is not possible with consumer cameras. With professional lenses, high-speed cameras and top-quality electronic processing, your pets will be displayed in spectacular colour and crisp detail, on photo prints as large as 3 feet high. Smaller, lower-resolution, images are available on the John's Pet Photography website, but the most spectacular renditions can only be seen on photo paper.
The craft of visual story telling can be difficult to master, but John's years of film & television experience and education, and of course his love and gentle manner with animals, have enabled him to preserve visual memories of your pets that will last you a lifetime. Whether you have an affectionate bird, shy cat or a sometimes-aggressive dog, John always manages to capture their best characteristics and their personalities you love.
